MEET MARGARET
Margaret Bell is the owner of Bellweather Orchard and one of the first familiar faces Morgan finds after coming home. Warm when she wants to be, formidable when she needs to be, Margaret has spent decades woven into the everyday life of Bellweather.
She knew Morgan's grandmother. She remembers Morgan as a child. And when impossible things begin happening again, Margaret knows enough to be afraid long before Morgan understands why.

HER STORY BEGINS
Morgan's return to Bellweather begins at Margaret's orchard, where an old tree, a strange brass key, and thirteen fallen apples turn a familiar first day of fall into something else entirely.
Margaret is there from the beginning, carrying history she does not hand over easily and watching Bellweather wake up around Morgan one impossible piece at a time.

Margaret is practical, nurturing, grounded, and far harder to rattle than most people. She has deep roots in Bellweather, a long memory, and a habit of deciding exactly how much truth someone is ready to hear.
Morgan finds this habit considerably less charming than Margaret does.
